about

Worn Out Hearts is a declaration of love for all things music, from writing to performing, to the feeling that stepping onto a stage gives performers, and the emptiness of losing the ability to experience any of that because of circumstances outside your own control. It's the first single from my upcoming EP, due out early 2023.

lyrics

Burn the candle too long
Night becomes day
The seconds slowly tick away
Blackened skies, heavy eyes
All that we know
But the life that we lead
Was never a choice
We raise our hands high
Sing with one voice
Because this is the only place
Where time can stand still, we're never alone and

We wear our Worn Out Hearts on sleeve
Live our dreams through the words we sing
The best and the worst of us
Poured out on this stage
Two verses and a chorus
All that we need to be saved

We get through the days just to
Get to the nights
It's so damn hard when you don't feel alive
Without lights
Without songs to play
Leave a beer on the rider but
Never two, and
On the way home
Buy shitty fast food
With the $8.50 we made
I'd do it all for free to feel no pain and

We wear our Worn Out Hearts on sleeve
Live our dreams through the words we sing
The best and the worst of us
Poured out on this stage
Two verses and a chorus
All that we need to be saved
All that we need to be saved
